Students from Cork Institute of Technology visit Leman Street Project

Date added: 31 Mar 2016

Students from Cork Institute of Technology visting our Leman Street Project

Bennett Construction recently welcomed students from Cork Institute of Technology to our Leman Street project.  The student construction managers and quantity surveyors visited Bennett’s Leman St project as part of a 3 day tour to visit high profile construction projects in London, including Cross Rail and Battersea Power Station.

The purpose of their visit to Leman Street, was to introduce the students to site logistics in a high rise development where space is restricted due to the central London location.

Once the students were given their health & safety induction, they were kitted out in the appropriate PPE and they started their tour of the site.

Bennett's Site Engineer, John Duggan guided the students around the site and provided them with information about the project, and the students were able to ask him questions during the session. The students demonstrated particular interest in the off-site prefabrication of precast columns, pods and unitised curtain walling, as well as the functionality of mast climbers, goods and passengers hoist, tower crane set up and loading bay.

Bennett Construction were delighted to welcome the students to the site and share details with them of this exciting project.
